The CrossNova Ensemble (Sabine Nova - violin, Leonard Eroed - bassoon and Rainer Nova - piano) will premiere Lyrical Intermezzo on Monday, February 7, 7:30 pm at the Stadttheater Wels. The piece was commissioned by the CrossNova Ensemble and is based on 4 poems from Heinrich Heine's collection "Lyrical Intermezzo". Also on the programm will be works by Brahms and Schumann.

Elmira Darvarova, former concert master of the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra and pianist Linda Hall (assistant conductor with the Met) will perform the New York premiere of Rolling Hills & Jagged Ridges during a concert of the New York Chamber Music Festival. Violist Victoria Miskolczy and cellist Armen Ksajikian will premiere this arrangement of "Three Short Stories" at a Spring Musicale of the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra at a private home in Pasadena.. David Breidenthal , principal bassoonist of the Los Angeles Philharmonic, and the Claremont Young Musicians Orchestra will perform Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's "Bassoon Concerto in Bb, K.191" on Sunday, January 19, 7:00 pm at Bridges Hall of Music, 4th Street and College Avenue in Claremont, CA. The cadenzas for the first and second movements are provided by Gernot Wolfgang. Other pieces on the program will be the "Wilhelm Tell Overture" by Rossini, "Symphonic Metamorphosis" by Hindemith and "Capriccio Italien" by Tchaikovsky. Gernot's composition "Silences" for flute, harp, violin, viola and violoncello will receive its U.S. premiere on Friday, February 8 at the Dunn School in Los Olivos, CA. The musicians will be Susan Greenberg - flute, Marcia Dickstein - harp, Amy Hershberger - violin, Victoria Miskolczy - viola and Matt Cooker - violoncello. Gernot has received a commission from Chamber Music Palisades to write a piece for piano quartet (violin, viola, violoncello and piano). The composition - "Metamorphosis" - will be premiered on Tuesday, October 23, 8:00 pm at St. Matthews Parrish, 1031 Bienveneda Ave., Pacific Palisades, CA. The musicians will be violinist Ida Levin, violist Evan Wilson (principal, Los Angeles Philharmonic), cellist Wilhelmina Smith (Mannes Trio) and pianist Delores Stevens. The Michigan based Verdehr Trio (Walter Verdehr - violin, Elsa Ludewig-Verdehr - clarinet, Silvia Roederer - piano) will perform Gernot's composition "Reflections" on Monday, February 19, 2001, 8:00 p.m. at Weill Recital Hall, Carnegie Hall, New York City. This will be the New York premiere of the piece.
