" Rolling Hills & Jagged Ridges is the finest work on the disc [Gernot Wolfgang, "Short Stories", Albany Records TROY1248]. Its inspiration is the imaginary landscape of the title, which begins and ends enveloped in mist, with an impressive view of the rugged landscape in between. The music for violin is particularly inventive, with a returning 'Hills' theme and imaginative use of silence and plucking, and even a Bach-like cadenza. As the mist decends towards the end of the piece, there is time for one last, quick flourish. "

Barnaby Rayfield, Fanfare Magazine

" [an] interesting, fast moving work, notable for its economical piano accompaniment, which works well in commenting dramatically on the flighty, virtuosic string writing. "

Donald Rosenberg, Gramophone

" Wolfgang's ability to tell tiny tales in sound is vividly evident in Rolling Hills & Jagged Ridges ... "
